The online program is recommended for Teachers and Trainers in remote or regional locations, or those who simply cannot attend face to face training. If you possess a high degree of self-direction and self-sufficiency, this learning option may be suitable for you.

The online option allows self-driven participants to work through the learning and assessment activities in a self-paced way, at a time and in a location that is convenient to them.

Having said all that, you don't have to go it alone!.....all TAE Academy online learners are supported by an assigned trainer/assessor, who will be available to aid in the clarification of content and assessment tasks as required.

TAE Academy also offers flexible options regarding additional assistance required by individuals undertaking its online programs, including but not limited to:

Open study days, where online participants can drop in for some one on one support at very affordable rates
The option to switch to a face to face program at any time

To undertake this program, participants must currently hold the TAE40110 qualification.

Note. TAE Academy does not allow entry into this program based on attainment of older versions of the Certificate IV (TAA or BSZ).

Some of the units in the upgrade course require application of learning in real VET situations, so participants must be currently practicing in a VET environment or have access to real VET learners. TAE Academy does not provide services to assist learners with making these arrangements.

Access to a computer with Microsoft Office installed is essential for this course (Microsoft Office 2007 or later version for PC, Office 2010 version for Mac).

Computer Literacy

Please note. The majority of assessment tasks in this program are required to be written in Microsoft Word and uploaded as pdf. Therefore, participants need to be reasonably proficient using MS Word (basic functions are usually fine) and able to perform other basic computer tasks such as converting word to pdf and uploading Familiarity and competence in using web based interfaces is also crucial in order to easily navigate and use the online portal.

TAE Academy does not provide tuition in using the aforementioned technologies. If you do not currently possess these skills, it is highly recommended that you first seek some basic training prior to undertaking this course.

NEW Face to Face (3 Days)

Note. All TAE Academy Face to Face programs are delivered as a blended model - i.e. a combination of F2F workshops and online activities to be completed post-workshops.

The three day upgrade program includes delivery of content for the units: TAEASS502 - Design and develop assessment tools and; TAELLN411 - Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

It also includes a refresher and a thorough explanation of the assessment tasks required to be completed to address the gap in the revised units: TAEASS401 - Plan assessment activities and processes and; TAEASS403 - Participate in assessment validation

Participants will learn how to identify and respond to specific individual and group LLN needs and how to design and develop full assessment tools; assessment instruments, candidate and assessor instructions, marking guides and validating mappings.

After noting the excessive out-of-class time and number of re-submissions often required by inexperienced assessment writers undertaking shorter versions, we designed this 3-day program for those with little-to-no experience, to ensure the extra in-class time sets participants up for success out-of-class.

To undertake this program, participants must currently hold the TAE40110 qualification.

4. Make Payment
If you are paying the course enrolment fees yourself, make sure you have your credit card ready. If your School, RTO, Employer or Organisation is accepting responsibility for payment of the fees, you will need to declare that you have been given permission to enrol based on 100% of the course fee being approved for payment by your Employer.

5. Complete a Pre-Training Review and Upload any documents requested
Complete the online enrolment form, the Pre-Training Review and the Language, Literacy & Numeracy Indicator as directed, and upload documents as requested.

6. Complete Your Enrolment & Login to the Dashboard
Once you have completed your enrolment process, you will be able to immediately login to your dashboard and view your training resources.

If you are enrolling in an online program, you will be able to begin your training immediately. For face to face programs, access to your resources will be activated by your Trainer at the first scheduled workshop.

Note regarding Certificates Issued After Course Completion
TAE Academy will issue your certificate or statement of attainment electronically, via the student portal, upon successful completion of your program. These electronic awards have an imbedded verification mechanism, hence TAE Academy does not issue hard copies as a matter of course. If a hard copy is required, you will need to formally request it and a small fee (under $10) may apply.

Before you start make sure you have the following items ready and on hand, for a smooth registration and enrolment.

A digital copy of a Vocational Qualification or your most current CV that you can upload (remember, this is required to demonstrate your vocational competence, which is a formal entry requirement for the Cert IV TAE) .
Have your Unique Student Identifier (USI) handy, noting that if you do not currently have a USI, you will need to obtain one as soon as possible after your enrolment. For further information, visit www.usi.gov.au
Note: if you are applying for one of the TAE40110 to TAE40116 upgrade programs, you will be required to upload a certified copy of your full TAE40110 qualification and record of results/statement of attainment as evidence.
If your School or Organisation will be paying, you will need to declare that you are authorised as a representative of your school to apply for this course and 100% of the fees for this course will be covered by your School or Organisation.
