Certificate IV Training and Assessment
This program is designed for vocationally qualified or skilled individuals who are seeking a career as a Trainer and/or Assessor in their field of expertise. This may be in a formal Vocational Education & Training (VET) environment, such as an RTO or TAFE Institute, or other corporate environments. It is designed to build knowledge and skills in a logical sequence, with a deep but broad overview of the sector upfront so that participants get an early and realistic insight into what a career in VET will entail.
Participants who successfully complete this program will develop the skills and knowledge required to confidently and competently:
- Work within an accredited, competency-based training framework
- Understand their role in the VET quality framework.
- Design, develop and deliver engaging group training programs.
- Design and develop robust and rigorous assessment tools.
- Plan and conduct assessments of competence of individuals
- Validate the effectiveness of all resources and outcomes.
- Apply the competency-based training framework to their industry.

This program is designed for vocationally qualified workers, who have been asked to, or are intending to, deliver a VET program within their workplace or corporate environment. The online program is recommended for participants who are looking to undertake study around their personal schedule and, or those who simply cannot attend face to face training. Online – Virtual Classroom
This program is designed for vocationally qualified workers, who have been asked to, or are intending to, deliver a VET program within their workplace or corporate environment. The online program is recommended for participants who are looking to undertake study around their personal schedule and, or those who simply cannot attend face to face training. If you possess a high degree of self-direction and self-sufficiency, this learning option may be suitable for you.

Course Requirements
Entry Requirements
You must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
Recognition of Prior Learning
You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer (CT) if you have supporting evidence of any prior education and work experience. These options can reduce your study load or shorten the duration of your course. For more information, please refer to the RPL and Credit Transfer Policy on our Support page.
Assessment Requirements
You will be required to complete both knowledge-based and practical assessments. These may include question and answer sessions, written reports, presentations, projects, and demonstrations either in the workplace or a simulated environment. Additionally, online students may need to submit videos as evidence of their practical skills application.

The workload outside of class varies based on your experience and learning style. Our program is structured to move through modules in a logical manner, aiming to facilitate progress with minimal obstacles.
Do I need access to learners to do this course?
